It is with great joy that the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael share with the Dominican Family that Sister Christina Atienza made her perpetual profession of vows on August 10, with her sisters, family and friends in attendance at Mass.

August 5, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – Adrian Dominican Sisters, Associates, and special guests celebrated the Perpetual Profession of Vows of Sister Marilín Llanes, OP. The Liturgy and Ritual of Profession took place August 4, 2019, in St. Catherine Chapel at the Motherhouse of the Adrian Dominican Sisters.
Sister Marilín’s Final Profession followed the conclusion of Embracing the Future / Encuentro con el Futuro / Pagyakap sa Hinaharap, a gathering of more than 600 Adrian Dominican Sisters, Associates, and specially invited Partners in Mission who work with the Congregation in sponsored institutions and other shared ministries. Special guests for the profession liturgy included Sister Marilín’s family members and friends.

On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters, Associates, and employees gathered “to stand strong against illegal and immoral refugee and asylum bans in the United States . . . We welcomed and celebrated 10 new Associates on Friday, August 2, in Dominican Chapel at Marywood in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Each new Associate gives voice to their deepening faith journey, sharing with our community of Sisters and Associates, and family and friends, their public expression of solidarity with the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids.
They have spent the past year learning about Dominican spirituality and the pillars of prayer, study, community, and service. This formal commitment to Dominican Associate Life is the final step of their mentored year of study.
