Dominican Sister of Grand Rapids Megan McElroy, OP Earns Doctor of Ministry in Preaching

GRAND RAPIDS, MI, October 12, 2017 – The Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids are pleased to announce that Megan McElroy, OP has successfully completed her studies and admirably defended, completed, and presented her thesis at Aquinas Institute, St. Louis, MO.

Over the past five years, while being the Co-Director of the Collaborative Dominican Novitiate, Sr. Megan has been taking classes, pondering the call to praise, to bless and to preach, interviewing Dominican nuns, and writing about the Holy Preaching happening in our world.

‘Caldwell University Names Art Gallery for Sister Gerardine Mueller, OP’

The statue is of the Blessed Mother usually on display in the chapel at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell.

On Saturday, September 23rd, Caldwell University dedicated its new art gallery in the name of Sister Gerardine Mueller, OP, a Dominican Sister of Caldwell since 1939. Sister Gerardine ministered in the Art Department of Caldwell University for 34 years before becoming a professor emerita in 1999.

Dominican Sister of Peace Annette Winter, OP Honored for Service

Great Bend, KS – “I never considered anything that I do ‘volunteer work.’ I see that something needs to be done, and I do it. It’s just the way that I am.”

That’s how Sr. Annette Winter, OP, a Dominican Sister of Peace in Great Bend, KS, responded to being named “Volunteer of the Year” by RSVP/VIA of Central Kansas. And it really is exactly how she lives her life – every day.

“Sr. Annette is NOT the volunteer that you see on the stage taking a bow at an event,” said Rebecca Ford, Communications and Development Director at Catholic Charities. Ford and Lori Titsworth, the agency’s Adoption Social Worker, nominated Sr. Annette for the award.
