We are happy to announce that the long-awaited Dominican Charism on-line learning platform will be launched Easter Monday, April 13th with the activation of the first two modules. Sr. Connie Schoen, OP shares the story of “The Life, Spirit and Mission of St. Dominic.” “The Call to Preach” module involves sessions by Sr. Sara Fairbanks, OP, Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, OP, Sr. Angela Mwaba, OP and Sr. Megan McElroy, OP. This module also includes short video clips of diverse members of the Dominican family and video clips focused on the preaching of the community of Barry University, the Sisters of Peace, the Summit Nuns in New Jersey, the Racine Dominicans, and the Maryknoll Sisters. An additional video by Sr. Barbara Schwarz, OP focuses on preaching through the arts.

February 11, 2020, Adrian, Michigan – Sisters, Associates, family members, fellow parishioners, and friends of Margaret Reyez gathered at St. Catherine Chapel at the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse February 8, 2020, to celebrate her Ritual of Acceptance as an Adrian Dominican Associate.
A retired librarian for the Westland, Michigan, School District, Margaret has been involved in her parish, SS. Simon and Jude in Westland, serving as youth minister and sacramental coordinator. It was there that she met Adrian Dominican Sisters Anneliese Sinnott, OP, and Cheryl Liske, OP. She was mentored by Associate Karen McDermott, Sister Cheryl’s sister.
The Dominican Sisters of Peace welcomed ministry leaders from 13 sponsored ministries in 7 states for their annual Ministry Leader Gathering, held at the Martin de Porres Center in Columbus, OH, on February 19-20.
Ministries represented at this gathering included ecology centers, retreat centers, and learning centers. The theme of the meeting was “Carrying the Charism into Tomorrow” and explored issues such as sustainability/capacity, mission advancement, and resources for sharing the Dominican Charism to advisory council/board members.
