Dominican Volunteers USA: ‘Life as a Dominican Volunteer in Redwood City, California’

Our latest blog post comes from DV Elizabeth Broussard. Elizabeth serves the St. Francis Center, a center for low-income families in Redwood City California, and offers us a glimpse into her experience, both inside and outside her ministry. Thank you for your service and perspective Elizabeth!
“Hiking has become my favorite way to spend free time out here. With Redwood City’s proximity to numerous national and state parks, mountains, coasts, and forests, you can drive an hour in practically any direction and find a new park to explore. Equipped with a water backpack and hiking boots, I find myself more and more frequently escaping the hubbub of the city for solace.”

Members of the International Dominican Commission for Justice and Peace gathered from around the world in Rome October 11-15. The commission is tasked with helping the whole Dominican Family grow in its work for justice and peace, remembering that justice is a constitutive dimension of the Dominican vocation and the preaching of the Gospel.
