A Dominican Literacy Center, run by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, offers immigrant women a chance to improve their lives in the United States. The literacy center teaches immigrant women to speak, read and write English. The programs provide countless opportunities for these women—whether it is to find a job, earn a degree or talk with others. Read article in Chicago Tribune
In 2015, ATF Press, an independent publisher in Australia, translated to English and published Yves Congar, O.P.’s Journal of a Theologian: 1946-1956 and Diary of the 1914-1918 War; as well as Marie-Dominique Chenu, O.P.’s Vatican II Notebook.

Every day during the fifteen month observance of the 800th Jubilee of the Order of Preachers, Nov 7, 2015 – Jan 21, 2017, a resource for “Lectio Divina” is available on the website of the Order. Each reflection, based on the scripture for that day, is prepared by a different member of the Dominican Family from around the world.
Each reflection includes these elements:
Lectio (scripture)
Studium (brief exegesis)
Meditatio (meditation/reflection)
Oratio (related prayer)
Contemplatio (“take away” thought upon which to reflect during the day)

Dominican Sisters of Peace were in Chimbote, Peru from December 4-6, 2015 when the Diocese of Chimbote officially honored three priests who were martyred in Peru in 1991. While there, the Dominican Sisters of Peace: Thoma Swanson, Susan Leslie, Manuela Crisologo Gonzalez and Gemma Doll attended a beatification Mass for the three priests. Read more
On December 5, 2015, Sister Elizabeth Jackson, O.P. professed temporary vows at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Columbus Motherhouse Chapel. Sr. Elizabeth is a Columbus native and a graduate of College of St. Mary of the Springs (1995) and St. Louis University School of Medicine (1975). Read More
