Month for Peace 2024: Haiti has Begun!
The Dominican Family in Haiti: brothers, Sisters of the Presentation of Tours, the lay Dominicans, and members of the Secular Institute of Orléans have chosen to focus their action on three areas:
1. Give children back their childhood through patronage-type activities (sports tournaments, expression workshops such as theater, drawing, singing) and a big festive celebration around Christmas. Around 300 children are involved. The money will be used here to pay the facilitators and to buy the equipment.
2. Support the schooling and civic training of disadvantaged children: about 150 children are involved. The money will be used to pay for materials and/or school fees for the children, and to pay trainers.
3. Provide access to healthcare for disadvantaged populations (Mobile Clinic). The money is used here to purchase medical consumables (bandages, medications, etc.) because the care will be provided by a team of healthcare professionals, all volunteers.
