The annual Father Samuel Mazzuchelli Memorial Mass and dinner will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at St. Patrick Church in Benton, Wisconsin. Father Mazzuchelli is known in Iowa and Wisconsin for establishing at least 35 parish communities, designing and building at least 24 churches, and founding the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters. He was declared “Venerable” by Pope John Paul II, the first step to sainthood. The day’s events also include a tour of St. Augustine Church in New Diggings, Wisconsin, and Father Mazzuchelli’s home and grave site in Benton. The public is invited.
