The artistic works of Dominican Sister of Hope, Sister Mary Ellen Wisner, OP will be on display at the Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center through September, 16, 2016. A Life in Colors features the mixed media work of this Dominican Sister of Hope who taught art for many years. In retirement she has been able to devote more time to her own work. S. Mary Ellen works in oils, water colors, and stained glass.

SINSINAWA, Wis.—Drazen Dupor of Madison, Wis., will lead an Icon Retreat at Sinsinawa Mound August 14-19. Come learn about the history of iconography, the origin of icon writing, the first and most famous icon writers and the difference between wooden board and wall icons. Dupor learned the ancient art form in Thessalonica, Greece, at the K. N. Georgiadis School of Art under the supervision of Zlatko Bomestar. He will demonstrate the usage of ancient techniques in present times as you write your own icon.

Siena Retreat Center, Racine, WI, is honored to host the International Forgiveness Project this summer, July 31- August 13. The purpose of hosting the exhibit and related programming is to offer to the broader community an opportunity to reflect on stories of forgiveness and the role forgiveness plays in a global, diverse, and complex society. The exhibit consists of twenty panels of thought-provoking images and personal narratives exploring forgiveness in the face of atrocity. Drawing together voices from South Africa, the United States, Israel, Palestine, Northern Ireland, and England, the exhibition examines forgiveness as a healing process, a path out of victimhood and, ultimately, a journey of hope.

The Maryknoll Mission Institute is hosting the program, “Embodying the Option for the Poor,” from July 17-22, 2016. The program will be presented by Maria Teresa Davila, PhD, a professor of Christian Ethics at Andover Newton Theological School. The registration fee is $50 and tuition is $200.
