August 24, 2016, Adrian, Michigan – Mary Veen, a former Adrian Dominican Sister, formally reconnected with the Congregation as an Associate on August 13 during a special Ritual of Acceptance. The brief ceremony was held during Partners IV, an annual gathering of Adrian Dominican Associates at the Motherhouse in Adrian.

On August 7, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill celebrated St. Dominic’s Feast Day and held a special ceremony for the Associates. The gathering welcomed new Associate, Marisa Ganey, to the community; and Associate Kathryne Hof recommitted to the community for 5 years. Read article
On Sunday, August 7, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt hosted a celebration for the Feast of St. Dominic and Associate First Commitment and Renewals.

(July 16-21, Toulouse, France) They came on pilgrimage to the place where St. Dominic lived and ministered. They wanted to walk along the same paths that Dominic walked.
From as far away as Korea, The Philippines, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Trinidad and Tobago, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Ivory Coast, Guatemala, Paraguay, Venezuela, Italy, Brazil, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Columbia and the United States, Dominican Young Adults, friars, sisters and laity gathered for the 12th International Meeting. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Young Dominicans sent to preach the Gospel.”

The Dominican Young Adults USA delegation is preparing to participate in the gathering of the International Dominican Youth Movement. Five young adults and three sisters will rendezvous July 16th in Toulouse, France!
The theme for the international meeting is 800 Years of Reasons to Celebrate. It is a very special moment for the Dominican Youth Movement which was inspired by the footsteps of our father, Saint Dominic. We will celebrate our history that looks to the future of our evangelizing mission.
