Dominican Young Adults Gather in Toulouse for Meeting of International Dominican Youth Movement

(July 16-21, Toulouse, France) They came on pilgrimage to the place where St. Dominic lived and ministered. They wanted to walk along the same paths that Dominic walked.

From as far away as Korea, The Philippines, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Trinidad and Tobago, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Ivory Coast, Guatemala, Paraguay, Venezuela, Italy, Brazil, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Columbia and the United States, Dominican Young Adults, friars, sisters and laity gathered for the 12th International Meeting. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Young Dominicans sent to preach the Gospel.”

Dominican Young Adults USA Delegation Prepares for International Gathering

The Dominican Young Adults USA delegation is preparing to participate in the gathering of the International Dominican Youth Movement. Five young adults and three sisters will rendezvous July 16th in Toulouse, France!

The theme for the international meeting is 800 Years of Reasons to Celebrate. It is a very special moment for the Dominican Youth Movement which was inspired by the footsteps of our father, Saint Dominic. We will celebrate our history that looks to the future of our evangelizing mission.

Dominican Youth Movement – Dominican College ‘Preaching in Action’ Conference Celebrates its 14th Year

Rejoice with me my sisters and brothers for thirty new college preachers were added to the family! During the week of May 24th, thirty students from Dominican Universities/Colleges or colleges with a Dominican presence gathered at Siena Heights University, in Adrian, MI for the 14th National “Preaching in Action” Conference. The participating universities/colleges included Albertus Magnus College, CT; Barry University, FL; Caldwell University, NJ; Dominican College, NY; Dominican University, CA; Dominican University, IL; Edgewood College, WI; Molloy College, NY; Ohio Dominican University; OH, Siena Heights University, MI; St. Catherine College, KY; and Yale University, CT.

Dominican Sisters of Springfield Welcome 29 New Associates

On May 15, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Springfield welcomed 29 new associates. “One of the largest associate classes in recent years, the group included residents from seven Illinois communities and, for the first time ever, ten new associates that hail from Columbia, Missouri. They made their commitment after completing a 9-month course in the history, spirituality, and mission of the Dominicans.”
