The 60th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) was held March 14-24, 2016 in New York. I had the opportunity to attend and share the experience with Dominican Sisters International (DSI) and Dominican Sisters from the United States.

The Dominican Sisters of Sparkill completed their Chapter last week and a new leadership team has been elected. The new team will take office in July.
The Shorelight Memory Care at Siena in Racine, Wisconsin officially opened on April 1st, with its first residents moving in on April 4th. The residence provides support and nursing care for older adults with memory challenges. Read more and view photos
St. Mary’s Dominican High School Veritas Volunteers were volunteer servers at the annual Chefs’ Charity for Children to benefit St. Michael’s Special School. Celebrity chefs conducted cooking demonstrations and benefit attendees enjoyed their culinary creations. Veritas Volunteers lead moderator is Dione Prince and Dawn Frick is moderator.

SINSINAWA, Wis.—In honor of Earth Day, Sinsinawa Mound is offering a daylong retreat to explore the intersections of our faith, the food we eat, and the reality of climate change. Climate Change at the End of Your Fork will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 23. Rooted in prayer and song, we’ll find the strength and courage in our stories of connection to take practical steps to help solve climate change at the end of our forks. A locally sourced meal will be included. The registration deadline is April 18, and the fee is $25.
