Photo of the Week – Amityville Dominican sister professes final vows

In April, Sister Flor de Maria Buruca, OP (Amityville) pronounced her perpetual vows as a Sister of St. Dominic. The Rev. Marvin Navas, CM, a friend of Sister Flor’s, celebrated the Mass. Flor de Maria Buruca is a native of El Salvador who entered the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville in April 2003. Sister Flor has worked in various ministries of service as she studied at Molloy College and became a U.S. citizen. Sister Flor was also instrumental in the building of a chapel for the people of her village in El Salvador.
