How can Christianity touch the imagination of our contemporaries whenever fewer people in the West identify as religious? Timothy Radcliffe argues we must show how everything we believe is an invitation to live fully. God says: ‘I put before you life and death: Choose life.’ Anyone who understands the beauty and messiness of human life – novelists, poets, film makers and so on –can be our allies, whether they believe or not. Adrian Associate Recognized for 44 Years In Refugee Resettlement Ministry

November 22, 2019, Oakland, California – Sister Elisabeth Lang, OP, a Dominican Sister of Vietnam and an Adrian Dominican Associate, received a service award from Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Oakland, California, for her 44 years of ministry in the diocese’s refugee resettlement program. The award presentation took place during a tribute luncheon hosted by Catholic Charities East Bay, where Adrian Dominican Sister Marian Castelluccio, OP, also ministers. Dominican Sisters of Adrian: Dominicans Accompany, Advocate for Displaced Farmers in the Dominican Republic

December 3, 2019, Seibo, Dominican Republic – The plight of displaced farmers from Seibo, in the western part of the Dominican Republic, has drawn the solidarity and advocacy of Dominican Sisters and Friars from both the Dominican Republic and the United States.

About three years ago, the farmers were displaced from their homes and land with the arrival of a sugar corporation. “Every day the media brought news of the mistreatments [the farmers] had suffered at the hands of the landowner, who with his economic power and influence had evicted them from, and destroyed their plantations,” said Adrian Dominican Sister Luisa Campos, OP, a native of the Dominican Republic who ministers at Centro Antonio Montesino in Santo Domingo. She added that 12-year-old Carlos Rojas Peguero was killed during conflicts over the land.

SINSINAWA, Wis.—The Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa unveiled a new congregation logo in December, featuring the familiar, traditional Dominican shield with a modern edge. The public can expect to see this new look on the congregation website, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), letters, and anywhere Sisters are building relationships and conducting business. The updated logo better represents who the Sinsinawa Dominicans are today as Catholic Sisters working with others as they continue to build a holy and just Church and society.
