Sinsinawa Dominican Sister Toni Harris, O.P. will present “Dominic’s Dream Continues: 800 Years and Counting”

SINSINAWA, Wis.—Sinsinawa Dominican Sister Toni Harris, OP, will present “Dominic’s Dream Continues: 800 Years and Counting” 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Sinsinawa Mound. All are welcome and those not able to attend are invited to watch via livestream at www.sinsinawa.org/live. Dominicans are observing a Jubilee, Nov. 7, 2015, through Feb. 21, 2017, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Order of Preachers established by St. Dominic in the 13th century. Begun in France eight centuries ago, today more than 230,000 members of the Dominican Family live and serve in 110 countries. This presentation will include these areas:  Who Was St. Dominic?; elements of Dominican identity; the call to jubilee; some prominent Dominican Family members; globalization of the order in Dominic’s day; globalization of the Dominican Family today; and Dominicans as a global movement.
