Dominican Women Afire

By Sister Mary Ellen O’Grady, OP

More than 130 Dominican women, 59 and younger or less than 10 years finally professed, from the 19 member congregations of the Dominican Sisters Conference, will engage in a multicultural, bilingual, four-day gathering at the Oblate Center for Renewal in San Antonio, Texas, Labor Day weekend (Aug. 28–31). We will be exploring, creating and visioning our shared future. Through a creative process, we will have significant conversation, not just about our current reality, but also our dreams and hopes for the future as we begin to explore ways of getting there.

Being together, building our capacity for mission, and giving ourselves to individual and communal contemplation so that others might receive the fruits of our contemplation are necessary elements of our common life… and we will experience it in enriching and meaningful ways in San Antonio! We ask for your prayerful support. Look for another update after the event.

For those of you in this cohort who have not yet registered, we encourage you to come and join us! See you there!
