Immigration: Livestream Workshop Sister Attracta Kelly to speak on immigration law

ister Attracta Kelly, OP, will present “Immigration Law: From Ya’ll Come! to Ellis Island to Secure Communities,” a three-hour workshop in two sessions, on Saturday, June 1 (from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.) Sister Attracta is prioress of the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan, earned her law degree in 1996 from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. In 2012, the Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Diocese of Lansing presented Sister Attracta with the St. Thomas More Award in recognition of her tireless efforts to shield children and adults from human trafficking, to protect women from violence, and to advocate for immigrants in need of asylum. The workshop will provide activists and other concerned individuals with substantive background on U.S. immigration law: what has been, what is, and what could be.
