As the United States approaches the 2012 presidential and congressional elections, Maryknoll missioners recognize that people around the world are interconnected as never before. While Maryknoll is based in the U.S., Maryknoll Sisters, Fathers, Brothers and Lay Missioners work in over 30 countries, in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In conjunction with the congregation’s 150th anniversary celebration, Racine Domincan Sisters and Associates worked with Habitat for Humanity in the rehabilitation of two houses during the week of Oct. 15. 
Fr. Andrew Carl Wisdom, OP, and Sister Christine Kiley, ASCJ, have published a new book that draws from their experiences with real life discerners. The book offers reflections and activities that provide direction and inspire greater peace during the process of discerning a life choice. They first describe the Church’s invitation to make a generous gift of self to God through married life, an intentional single life, priesthood, or religious life. The reflections are arranged by the common stages of discernment journeys and are designed to help the reader move from creating and cultivating a vocational interest to a decision to follow or abandon that interest.
