ICR at the FAO seeks executive secretary
International Congregations at the FAO (ICR at the FAO) is looking to hire a consecrated man or woman as an executive xecretary to represent them at the FAO. The Food and Agriculture Organization is a United Nations specialized agency, accountable to the FAO Conference of member governments. FAO’s Headquarters is in Rome, Italy.
Achieving food security for all is at the heart of FAO’s efforts—to make sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. FAO’s mandate is to raise levels of nutrition, improve agricultural productivity, better the lives of rural populations and contribute to the growth of the world economy.
Many Catholic religious congregations also have their headquarters (generalates) in Rome. A collaborating group of Promoters of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) from these congregations believes—particularly because they are also in Rome—that it is important to work to influence this important, specialized agency.
The United Nations is a family of organizations. Also known as the United Nations system, it is made up of the United Nations Secretariat, the United Nations programs and funds, and the UN specialized agencies.
