Books Learning Centers: Saints
Sister Catherine Stewart, OP (Springfield) has recently published a new book on the saints through Twenty-Third Publications, in their Learning Centers format. The book is intended for use with elementary students in religious education and includes interactive activities to teach children about the lives of the saints. Read more

Adrian Dominicans Center for Earth Jurisprudence produces documentary
The Center for Earth Jurisprudence (CEJ), directed by Sister Patricia Siemen, OP, recently completed production of a nine-minute documentary exploring the mission and core rationale of the CEJ. The documentary premiered on Feb. 1 at the Future Generations Conference and was posted on You Tube on Feb. 11. Read more

Houston Dominicans Bowling and dancing for justice
The month of February found the Dominican Sisters of Houston working for justice in unexpected ways. Blauvelt Dominicans Sisters, associates take Climate Reality Pledge
During their assembly Feb. 15–18, the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, New York, and associates decided to deepen their commitment to protect the environment by taking the Climate Reality Pledge. Dominican Center at Marywood Pilgrimage to Spain is Oct. 26–Nov. 5
The Dominican Center at Marywood, a ministry of Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids in Michigan, celebrates A Year of Faith with the church by sponsoring a tour of Spain, the land of St. Dominic de Guzman (13th century founder of the Dominican Order), St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, 16th century reformers and Doctors of the Church; and Saint Ignatius of Loyola (16th century founder of the Jesuits). This 11-day trip, hosted by Sisters Nancy Brousseau, OP and Diane Zerfas, OP, will leave Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 26, and return to Chicago on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Read more
Women of God: Influences from African Spirituality
On Saturday, March 9, the Dominican Center at Marywood, Grand Rapids, Michigan, offers a morning of conversation about the influences of African spirituality. Presented by four Catholic women whose spirituality has been profoundly gifted by the cultural influences of Kenya and Nigeria.
The 15th annual Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference is scheduled for June 24–29 at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Applications are due April 30.
Brian Doyle, editor of Portland Magazine at the University of Portland and author of the essay collection “Grace Notes,” recently published a brief but heartfelt tribute to a Dominican sister he knew as a child.
