report an attack on the Syrian Catholic Church in Baghdad

- 18 May 2007 -- Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe is this year's
winner of the £15,000 Michael Ramsey Prize for
Theological Writing for his book: What
is the Point of Being a Christian? published by Continuum.
The Award, which is sponsored by the Lambeth Fund, was inaugurated
by Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams to encourage the most
promising contemporary theological writing and to identify it for

New York State Agrees on Law Against Sexual
and Labor Trafficking

May 16 — State lawmakers and Governor
Spitzer have agreed to make labor and sex-trafficking felonies,
breaking a deadlock on an issue many in the state thought should
have been resolved long ago. The successful passage of the
legislation marks an important milestone in fighting the sex slavery
trade, the third largest criminal industry in the world. Trafficking
is one of the most difficult crimes to prosecute and most insidious

LOUISVILLE,
KY – May 23, 2007---There was a Kentucky Dominican taking
part in the “most exciting two minutes in sports” on
May 5 during the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby. No, one of
our sisters was not running on the track at Churchill Downs, but
a horse named Dominican, owned by Tommy and Bonnie Hamilton in
nearby Springfield, Ky. and named for the Dominican Sisters of
St. Catharine, KY, was among the field of 20 horses in the Run
