New Interim Director Named for
McGreal Center in Joint Announcement

FOREST, IL , July 26 2006--- The continuing legacy of the Order of Preachers
in the United States is in good hands as the Dominican Leadership Conference
(DLC) and Dominican University, jointly announce the appointment of
Janet Welsh, OP, Ph.D, as the new Interim Director of the McGreal Center
for Dominican Historical Studies. The center will become the new home
of the work of Project OPUS.

North American Justice Promoters Meet
to Refine Justice Agenda

met this week to refine their agenda for peace and justice and revisit
the Dominican Call to To Action, a document written three years

Constructing faith for the displaced

MEXICO---In the thick pine and oak forests in the highlands of Chiapas
— the most southern state in Mexico — Chamula Tsostil Indians
are working to complete the San Juan Diego Church. It is a church founded
by displaced indigenous communities in the outskirts of the colonial

NY July 26, 2006--The Dominican Sisters of Amityville, NY will convene
their 21st General Chapter entitled - Empowered for Mission 1206-2006
and Beyond… on August 3 and end August 8 with a liturgy and
celebration for the feast of St. Dominic. The Chapter of Elections will
take place March 10-11, 2007.
