WATER GAP, PA June 26, 2006-- Every preaching moment must foster a
mutually enhancing relationship between Earth and human beings. This
was the prevailing impetus for the DSI sponsored International
Ecological Conference held June 9-19, 2006 at Genesis Farm. The
conference brought together Dominicans from around the globe and included
a weekend program at nearby St. Paul Abbey.

Dominican High School Preachers to Gather
at Siena Heights University
ADRIAN,
MI- June 26, 2006 – Nearly 100 high school students from Dominican
schools across the country are gathering at Siena Heights University
for the Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference. Now in its eighth
year, the conference gives young people an opportunity to pray and share
faith, and put their preaching into action.

(Switzerland) June 26, 2006 - Plagued by ineffective action and criticism,
the United Nations has revamped its human rights organization into a
new Human Rights Council hoping that reform will bring new credibility
and effective action on behalf of human rights. Dominicans at the United
Nations/Geneva made a joint statement with other faith-based groups

Barry and St. Thomas University law schools
announce jointly-created Center for Earth Jurisprudence
MIAMI,
Florida- June 26, 2006 --Thanks to a $1 million grant from the estate
of Marie V. Gendron to the Sisters of St. Dominic of Adrian, Michigan,
Barry and St. Thomas Universities-home to the only Catholic law schools
in Florida-have jointly created the nation's first Center for Earth
Jurisprudence.The center will look at law and governance from an earth-centered-rather
than a human-centered-perspective.
