SEARCH FOR LIVING WATERS
Dominican Nuns Reflect on Contemplative Spirituality

If God speaks a word, it is because he desires to reveal,
to communicate, to walk with us
in the garden he creates with us.
The search is our response to God's desire
Thus, life is a desire and a search - God's and ours.

This book is a thanksgiving to God for 800 years.
It tells of a journey, an adventure:
how contemplative women seek living waters,
not only for themselves but for all.

Each article is a reflection on contemplative life
in its ascetic, mystical and communitarian dimensions.
The articles given are a small selection
from Dominican Monastic Search
which began in 1980 as a journal
sponsored by the Dominican Nuns of the United States
to foster contemplative life by the sharing of insights
gained from prayer and study.

Come to the waters (Is 55:1).
We walk with all in need and who search.
Joy awaits us. God's desire is present,
passionate, persistent- a desire never diminished.

You are invited to join the search and know the joy.
Sr. Mary Vincent Wagner - Editor
