Dominican Sisters of Sparkill Promote Rights of Immigrants and Workers at Local May Day Rally
On May 1, 2017, Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and friends “joined over 100 local residents for a rally in Nanuet, NY . . . in support of the rights of workers, immigrants and all people.” The May Day Rally was “organized by the Rockland Immigration Coalition and co-sponsored in part by the Sisters’ ministry One to One Learning, Inc.” Read article

A new documentary, entitled Bringing Light to the World, about the two historic Dominican congresses–one held in Rome earlier this year and the other in Salamanca in 2016–has been launched by an award-winning Dominican filmmaker.
On April 25, 2017, Sister Katrina Hartman, OP was honored with the Dominican Spirit Award at Catholic Central High School. “Sister Katrina has dedicated her life to teaching science.” She was a chemistry teacher at Catholic Central High School and then a chemistry professor at Aquinas College for 30 years.
