Dominican Sisters of Peace Celebrate 50 Years of Presence in Peru
For fifty years, a total of twenty-four Dominican Sisters of Peace have served in Chimbote, Peru. On April 29, 2016, a celebration was held for the Golden Jubilee of the Sisters’ presence in Chimbote. In attendance were Sr. Mary Ann Connolly, Sr. Germaine Conroy, Sr. Catherine Malya Chen and Sr. Therese Leckert.

Sister Margaret McDermott, a Blauvelt Dominican, is the Executive Director of the Tolentine Zeiser Community Life Center in the Bronx, New York. One of the significant offerings the Tolentine Zeiser Community Life Center has is the Day Care and Universal Pre-Kindergarten where children are provided an early childhood curriculum. The Day Care and Universal Pre-Kindergarten has been beneficial to the community due to the growing costs of child care.
