DSC Update from new office in Michigan

By Sister Orlanda Leyba, OP (Grand Rapids)

Executive Director Mary Sue Kennedy is fully engaged in “birthing” the Dominican Sisters Conference (DSC) from its new headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan. It’s an exciting day for the Dominican family as we continue Dominican collaboration and participations in our shared mission.

Among the first major projects is to engage the Dominican family in the First Annual Gift-Sharing Fundraiser. As was done in the past with the DLC, sisters and associates are asked to donate from their artistic, creative endeavors. During the month of May, we should be showcasing a variety of “gifts” that will be raffled off each day. More specific information will be forthcoming about this project in the near future.

Another project underway is the unique DSC cross and chain that will soon be available for purchase. As part of our collaboration and unique identity in the Dominican family, this sign/symbol will serve to identify us as Dominican sisters and associates who engage in the mission of the holy preaching. On this topic, too, you will hear more in the near future.
