Three Friars from St. Martin Province Missioned to Ecuador

NEW ORLEANS, November 27, 2006--On November 3, 2006, the Feast of St. Martin de Porres, three missionaries from St. Martin Province were commissioned. to minister at Parroquia de Sto. Dominigo in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Frs. Chris Eggleton, OP,Charlie Johnson, OP and. John Restrepo, OP received the blessing of the community at Holy Ghost Parish (a parish all three friars had been at one time or another) in Hammond, Louisiana.


The people in Ecuador always refer to Parroquia de Sto. Dominigo in Guayaquil, as St. Vincent Ferrer Parish. The house where the friars will be living is San Pablo Apostol., which was established in 1587. The parish was established in 1942.
